Dr. Té Bassett is a Psychologist, Professor, Pastor, and Author committed to serve and effect change.

Dr. Bassett received her Bachelors degree in Psychology from Loyola College in Maryland (now Loyola University Maryland), then received her Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City. After earning her Master of Science degree in Applied Psychology from Long Island University (LIU) Post, she graduated with her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, with a focus on severe mental illness, from LIU Post. She has 15 years of clinical experience in various settings including inpatient psychiatric hospitals, correctional facilities, colleges, and residential programs. She is currently Staff Psychologist in a college counseling center, where she oversees the management of high risk student cases, crisis intervention, and clinical operations/best practices. Her clinical interests have led her to present at conferences and symposiums on topics such as trauma-informed care, help-seeking behaviors, and spiritually-integrated psychotherapy.

“Dr. B”, as her students call her, is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Psychology for the City University of New York and Long Island University-Post. Her unique role as both a professor and clinician has afforded her opportunities to train college faculty at various campuses on the importance of a holistic approach to academics, knowing that students often bring more than books into the classroom and require more than tutoring to succeed. She believes that understanding why and how non-academic factors directly affect academic performance and classroom behaviors is how faculty can move to a higher level of effectiveness.

“Pastor Té”, as she is known in ministry arenas, was ordained Pastor of Counseling & Mental Health of The Excelling Church - Queens Campus in September 2019 and now serves as Associate Pastor. In addition to assisting Apostle Garelle K. Solomon with administrative tasks, she also oversees counseling operations and assistance with crisis management.

Service is a core value that Dr. Bassett holds dear. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated, a public service organization, and served as the 2nd President and CEO of Global Tassels, an international nonprofit education-focused organization.

Dr. Té is the mother of son Yair (7) and daughter Téa and although she is a native New Yorker, is a resident of Fairfield County, Connecticut.
